The set-up
Two hours before her sister’s wedding, the maid of honour has a confession and a plan. The bride is getting ready behind a closed door, kept there by the tradition that the groom must not see her, and the groom is in the next room struggling with his tie. The Maid of Honor turns that morning into a five-episode countdown. Mila Nowak leads, and Candy lists it as new.
The first scene
Episode one wastes no time. The narration states the goal in its opening line. The groom tries to see his bride and is turned away on superstition, then fumbles with his tie until the maid of honour offers to fix it, having noticed that he cannot manage it alone. With the bride busy on the other side of the wall, she tells him she has wanted him since the day he first met her sister. He reminds her he is getting married; she reminds him exactly how soon, and asks for one time before the vows.
The episode is all dialogue and proximity, with nothing explicit on screen.
The rest of the morning
Episode two is free with a Candy account, and the three locked episodes after it follow the countdown to the ceremony. We have not seen beyond the opener, and the series has no stars or overall score here yet.
Cost
At 12 tokens per locked episode, the full series is 36 tokens.
Similar countdowns
Wedding deadlines are a favourite Candy device: Veronica’s Fitting Room counts down five days to a groom’s big day, and Private Lessons has an engaged client three weeks from the altar. Mila Nowak’s other recent title, My Wife Hired My Nurse, plays the temptation-under-the-same-roof idea for laughs, while She’s not real remains her best-rated series here.
First impressions
A sharp, single-location premise with the clock built into the title. The opener is short and to the point; if the countdown appeals, the rest costs the standard 36 tokens.
