The premise
His girlfriend wanted to host an exchange student and chose Mica, an adult student in town for a semester, who turns out to have some very particular questions about English. Our Exchange Student is the lightest of the five titles Candy added around 20 October, built on misunderstandings and vocabulary lessons. Mica Sarasola plays the student.
Lesson one
The episode opens on a question: what does friends with benefits mean exactly? The girlfriend is running late and asks her boyfriend to help Mica settle in, which leaves him to explain the phrase. Mica likes the idea of no strings. He calls her a tease, and she wants to know if that is a new word and whether what she is doing counts as teasing. When the girlfriend calls him to bed, he says two minutes. Mica’s parting request is for tomorrow, when the girlfriend works late: she learns better when someone shows her.
The humour stays verbal and nothing explicit is shown.

Mica in other roles
Mica Sarasola’s other series is Forgive Me, Father, a confessional story with a very different mood. For a similar guest-in-the-house set-up, Our New Babysitter has a sitter taking the lead the moment the kids are asleep.
So far
Playful and light, with the language-lesson gimmick doing a lot of the work. If you liked the comic side of Candy’s houseguest stories, this is an easy pick.
