The premise
A boyfriend gets a simple favour request from his girlfriend: drive her mother Diana home from work. Diana’s car is in the shop for the week, she needs rides, and she makes sure the first one does not end at her front door. My Girlfriend’s Mom Needs A Ride brings Diana Demont back in a role close to her best-known ones. Candy released it in the second half of October.
The drive home
The episode is almost entirely inside the car. Diana thanks him for being her knight in shining armour and says he is a gentleman; he answers that he is, most of the time. She asks about the rest of the time, then observes that he is looking, and adds: “You put ’em there.” When the girlfriend checks in to ask whether her mom is talking his ear off, Diana answers for him, saying he is a very good listener. After the drop-off he admits it was the fastest forty minutes of his year, and Diana says it is not over unless he wants it to be. Her car is in the shop all week, so could he pick her up from work tomorrow, and not mention it to her daughter.
The free opener is mostly banter, with no sex or nudity.
The week of rides
A free sign-up unlocks episode two. The last three sit behind tokens, and presumably fill out the week without a car. We have no verdict yet.
What it adds up to
Three paid episodes at twelve tokens each: 36 in total.
More Diana Demont
Her catalogue is among the strongest on Candy. YES MA’AM is the one with a full review here and a score of 4.0; Got Stuck With My Girlfriend’s Stepmom and Yes, Coach each reach 5.0 in our table, and YES, DIRECTOR sits at 4.5. This new series follows the same pattern: older woman, younger man, and a favour that gets out of hand.
Impression
A confident, compact opener and exactly the Diana Demont formula, with the added risk of the girlfriend’s phone calls. If her other series worked for you, this one will too.
